Jake Moodie
Jake Moodie is a Toronto-based bassist and educator with a deep love for the jazz tradition — especially the swinging, earthy feel of the double bass. His playing draws on classic sounds while staying grounded and present for today's audiences.
Whether holding down the groove for a blazing quintet or supporting a singer with a whisper, Jake brings musicality, humor, and deep listening to every gig.
Alongside performing, Jake teaches one-on-one bass lessons — electric and upright — working with students at all levels. He's played stages across Toronto and beyond, and continues to record and collaborate with musicians in the local scene.
